Professor Ana Lopez' Article Published

A technical article that Metals & Jewelry professor wrote was just published in SNAGNews online. The research was largely accomplished with aid from a UNT Small Grant and seed money from the College of Visual Arts & Design.

"This article is about how a non-enamelist came to design and build (and fail and build and fail and build and then build again) a large, torch-fired enameling kiln..."

NOTE: You must me a SNAG member to read the full article.

Adam Neese MFA Project Published and Exhibited

Graduate student Adam Neese has launched a new project on his website. A Known World is his MFA thesis project, and it considers the return to a landscape held in his memory:

"In the transition from adolescent to adult, my views of landscape have changed; but the woods near my parents house still hold the same mystique and wonder that I remember from my youth."

Semigloss Magazine is a new independent magazine focusing on the arts in North Texas, and Neese's image Trebazonia is on the cover. It's a beautiful publication with great content, so be on the lookout for upcoming issues.

The Artist Catalogue featured some of Neese's work and an interview in their winter issue. You can download a low-res version here.

Save the date

Neese is showing his thesis exhibit in two venues in North Texas this spring:

Dallas, The Janette Kennedy Gallery, February 13-26, reception February 23rd from 7-10 PM.

Fort Worth, The Grackle Art Gallery, March 16-30 by appointment, reception March 23rd from 7-11 PM.
