UNT Fibers student is "Future of Quilting"

Naomi S. Adams, UNT graduate fibers student, was awarded the Future of Quilting Award at the 2010 Houston International Quilt Festival this week. This award includes $1000 as well as travel and lodging expenses to attend the 2010 Festival.

Her art quilt, Diamonds, was juried into the annual exhibit, Quilts: A World of Beauty, which made her eligible for this award. The Future of Quilting award is sponsored by Tin Lizzie. The Festival will be held from November 4-7, 2010, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. The International Quilt Festival began in 1974 and is the largest annual consumer quilt show in the world. The Festival was attended by over 50,000 people in 2008 from all over the U.S. and more than 28 countries around the world, from Australia to Zimbabwe. A complete list of winners is located on the International Quilt Association website at www.quilts.org.
